Session 028 - The Storm Of Castle Neverwinter

Where to go?

The Bussy Knights collected their thoughts for a moment after their battle with four members of the Krymetime Krew ended. Exhausted, the party discussed their options after Illsaiim reported the small army marching towards Castle Neverwinter.

After a short while, Illsaiim was telepathically contacted by Lucius before Darren arrived at their location; struggling to catch his breath.

”It’s absolutely chaotic here. Rowland says to get to Alison for help. We’ve been blind sighted. Darren is on his way to you now.” - Lucius to Illsaiim

Darren’s Device

Darren Brigg presented The Bussy Knights with an artefact that bore resemblance to the Vaa’ruulian weaponry they’d seen; claiming that the Alagondar Trust had stolen it during a raid on one of the shipments. After he activated the device, it emitted a cloaking cloud of smoke and the party had their stealthy-ness improved for a short while.

All Sneaky Beaky Like

After the Krymetime Krew’s small army had passed by their location, Illsaiim and Darren led the party across the main street of the city with expertise and finesse. The Bussy Knights managed to cross two thirds of the distance with no mistakes when their magical assistance ran out. Luckily for them, they proceeded to cross the final third towards the Eastern half of the city without being detected. Darren separated from the The Bussy Knights at this stage as the party headed towards Alison at the Starling Library.

As The Bussy Knights moved away from the central street - they noticed the army stop at the door steps of Castle Neverwinter and wait patiently.

Alison’s Assistance

Alison’s library was even busier than normal to the point that Graxious was moving the crowd out of his way with his tail to avoid getting jammed amongst those looking for safety.

Alison herself greeted the party brusquely as she was clearly very busy - offering the party three choices of a recovery boon as a favour to Rowland. After a short deliberation, The Bussy Knights elected that Fill have his magical essence be fully replenished - enabling him to partially heal the most injured members of the party.

The Bussy Knights headed out towards the streets of the city to find a way into Castle Neverwinter. Wu Tang suggested that he and Alberic climb the walls of the castle and use their rope to pull the other members up. Some amongst the party wished to speak to the Wolf-Pelt Watchtower first before heading into the fray.

Wolf-pelt Watch…OUT!

As The Bussy Knights got close to the Wolf-Pelt Watchtower, a loud BOOOOOM! filled the space as multiple simultaneously explosions occurred up the tower leaving only a pillar of smoke and fire in it’s place.

The Bussy Knights initially believed that no one could have survived a blast like that before the silhouette of Kurrud Silverbeard rushed forwards - pulling a concealed blade from his shield - as two more men; clearly injured from the blast, followed behind the male Dwarf’s lead.

Graxious’ Epic Charge Forward!

Graxious witnessed the display of courage from the soldiers that had just passed by and couldn’t help himself but charge after them with a meow! - dragging Illsaiim behind him with his tail.

The rest of The Bussy Knights followed behind at various speeds and eventually they were all met with the reality of the battle ahead of them. They saw Alagondar Trust and Wolf-Pelt Watchtower members working together to resist the attacks of the Krymetime Krew. Illsaiim looked across the battlefield and saw Marsha Corn dashing between enemies with great finesse.

With no visual on Brick, Samira, Rowland, or Lavendra, and the sound of a battle occurring from within the Castle - the party decided to head within after Wu suggested they “cut off the head of the snake…“.

Familiar Faces Enter The Fray

As The Bussy Knights headed up the stairs towards Castle Neverwinter - they witnesses a vaguely feminine figure with a black robe dance across the battlefield wielding an unusual dagger. The only distinct feature presented was a lock of blonde hair.

They also saw Delilah channel her divine powers sending two Guiding Bolts at the rooftops to give her husband Leo’kan an opening to destroy one of the carts with his greatsword.

Confident the battle outside was handled by their allies; the party headed into Castle Neverwinter.

A Battle With The Farrows

In the central foyer of the city’s main seat - The Bussy Knights saw Samira and Brick locked in combat with Rowland Cillian and Lavendra. The two Krymetime Krew generals were seen adorned with the same Vaa’ruulian device that the brute earlier had been wearing.

Wu and Illsaiim quickly targeted Samira’s device and managed to strike it early into the combat. Fill for a brief moment stretched his consciousness to both boost his fellow party-member’s skills while resisting the skills of Brick - allowing the melee fighters to surround the hulking figure. Mid-way through the fight Darren appeared from the main entrance and aided the allies against Brick and Samira.

Brick’s device proved harder to hit and he resisted a significant amount of damage from the onslaught in front of him. Samira on the other hand was struggling to stay away from the combined attacks of Wu, Illsaiim, Fill, and Mike. She managed to escape briefly and drank the contents of two red vials which seemed to revitalize her momentarily before Mike brought her to within an inch of her life - Samira dug deep and drained most of her remaining stamina into a flurry of attacks that even the raging Mike Hawk could not resist but fall unconscious to.

Illsaiim managed to land a hit on Brick’s now charged up Vaa’ruulian device and it sent a similar shockwave throughout the surrounding space - Graxious fell unconscious at the impact whilst Rowland Cillian and Lavendra were knocked off their feet.

Wu Tang drew from his inner Ki and dashed across the foyer floor to surprise Samira with a quick unarmed strike - knocking her unconscious before she could react. At the sight of his sister being knocked the the ground, Brick began to get verbally angry at Rowland and the members of The Bussy Knights.

Alberic managed to land a strike against the heavily damaged Brick leaving him lying on the floor.

”Have you ever trusted the wrong person???” - Brick to Alberic as he falls unconscious

Gathering Of Thoughts

In the first moments after the battle ended; Lavendra and Rowland observed the battlefield for any incoming threats before calling The Bussy Knights over to explain their confusing alliance.

”We had suspicions early on that we had been infiltrated by at least some within Oskar’s gang. We didn’t want our alliance compromised by that lack of trust so we feigned pacifism to hopefully throw any of them off our scent…

Unfortunately, given the state of the tower, it looks like that… COUGH” - Lavendra to The Bussy Knights

Lavendra stopped mid-sentence as she fell forwards with a painful expression on her face. From behind her; a new figure took the place of Darren - who had been inspecting the body of Brick.

Betrayal!!

A tall, dark-skinned, Human male with grey/silver hair stood in front of them armed with two unique-looking crossbows.

”Well ‘allo there. I’m Oskar Kryme - pleasure to be doing business with you all.” - Oskar Kryme to The Bussy Knights

The session closed with Oskar firing both crossbows into the back of Rowland Cillian as the Water Genasi male fell forwards with the same pained expression as Lavendra on his face.
