Session 016

  • Uganda heads to a pub; ‘The Steel Inspired’, run by Winston Dexter (Windex)
  • Via a secret codeword, Uganda heads to the Sussy Cockfighting ring where he is the reigning champion ‘Rowanda Dickens’
  • Uganda fights in a title defence match and wins. On the way back to the arena, Salvador knocks Pickles unconscious to avoid any further distractions.
  • Alberic wakes from meditation and has a realisation that he could potentially detect the natural ki of the assassin that attacked Loogan Poole with enough time and focus.
  • The rest of the party all returns to the room shortly after and they regroup on the state-of-play regarding the election.
  • Halia Thorton enters the room shortly after and informs the party she was made aware that the election cannot be delayed any further and will occur within the next 3-4 hours.
  • The party discuss their options and decide that investigating Dagult’s room is the only remaining option in the time they have. Salvador’s description of the guards gives the party a clue that they are Dagult’s personal guards.
  • Leodel attempts to deceive the guards; named Trick and Brick, but is hindered by the rest of the party failing to stay hidden down the hallway. Luckily, Leodel’s quick wits allows him to play this off as his exiting an orgy.
  • The guards believe Leodel’s ruse that Dagult is waiting for them in the corridor and ask Leodel to attend the door while they head there.
  • Leodel calls the party over and they attempt to open the door. It takes some time but after Uganda helps the party find the hidden lock in the handle of the door - Leodel picks the lock and they enter the room.
  • The party except Leodel run into the room as Brick and Trick reappear and toy with him for pranking them before they re-assume their guard positions. Leodel failed to re-lock the door.
  • The party attempt to quietly investigate the bedroom before Uganda knocks over a lantern; causing it to smash and drawing the attention of the guards.
  • The party continually attempt to hide and investigate while Trick; unaware the door was already unlocked, re-locked the door in an attempt to find who or whatever made that noise.
  • Leodel rushes back up the stairwell and attempts to distract the guards to buy his comrades time.
  • Fill reaches out to Santa Claus for a sign of something important - A green aura appears around an open letter on the night stand and Fill instructs Salvador to grab it.
  • Leodel manages to trick the two guards and hides the key on his body after relocking the door. Unfortunately they catch on to his act and drag him off with a bag over his head to see Dagult.
  • The party search the room for clues and find more blank letters plus a singular sending stone.
  • Salvador reads the letter from the night stand - it details a shipment of goods to Neverwinter from Halldon by a man named Mr Fites.
  • The party deduced through trial-and-error that fire might be able to show the message on the paper.
  • Mike suggests finding a rat or mice (Uganda found Rat poop earlier) and using talk with animals to see if they could identify the trick to the letters. He manages to find a trail of poop leading to a hole in the wall but no rat.
  • While searching for any remaining clues, Salvador finds a cigar kit with 4 unsmoked cigars, an ash tray, and an empty indent where an automatic lighter might fit.
  • The party attempt to use the cigar smoke to reveal the contents of the letters. However, while the clouds of smoke clump together like lines on a page, no words can be made out.
  • The party resolve to searching for the lighter - eventually returning to the night stand that the content-full letter was on.
  • With a careful investigation of the top drawer, a hidden panel was found on the underside of the drawer and an artisan lighter with a logo of ‘ER’ found within the secret chamber.
  • Using the lighter carefully on the letter Mike found in the study, they reveal another conversation between Mr Fites and Dagult.
  • Fill and the party find what they’ve been looking for when they use the lighter on the letter he found in Harbin’s house the prior day. This letter incriminates him with a clear threat against Harbin and the now dead right-hand.
  • The session closed with the party looking for a way out of the room.
